This role is critical in driving retail excellence, ensuring optimal store readiness, and increasing device sell-out in designated territories. Through regular field visits and engagement with retail outlets, this role aims to manage and enhance channel sales, conduct training and advocacy, oversee store operations, and provide detailed insights to support sales strategies. Success in this role involves close collaboration with store staff, strategic data gathering, and efficient management of administrative tasks. Additionally, the role requires leading and coordinating with other sales staff and support teams to achieve broader objectives in retail performance.

Qualifications and other requirements

  • Diploma in any discipline
  • Proven experience in sales, ideally within the ITC hardware sector.
  • Solid understanding of retail sales, store management, and training principles.
  • Strong analytical skills for data management and deriving insights.
  • Skilled in administrative and merchandising tasks, including inventory control.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, essential for store and team engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the country.

Job Description

Channel Sales Management:

  • Inventory and Channel Optimization: Oversee sales across offline channels, managing inventory levels to prevent stockouts and ensure stores are well-stocked with high-demand items.
  • Promotion and Incentive Programs: Design, execute, and track promotion initiatives and incentive programs to drive channel performance.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Implement and monitor sales strategies tailored to each store’s needs, ensuring that retail execution aligns with overall brand goals.

Training and Advocacy:

  • Product Knowledge Training: Develop and lead product training sessions for store staff, focusing on building in-depth product knowledge, responsiveness to customer inquiries, and sales techniques.
  • Advocacy and Recommendation Tracking: Continuously measure staff advocacy rates (how often they recommend the brand to customers) and adjust training to increase advocacy, building a reputation of trust and expertise.
  • Engagement with Store Employees: Provide ongoing support to maintain high engagement levels among retail staff, positioning them as brand advocates who effectively communicate the product value to customers.

Store Management and Merchandising:

  • Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong connections with store managers and staff, acting as the main point of contact to ensure a smooth relationship.
  • Negotiation and Store Visibility: Work on negotiating better fixture placements and ensuring that the brand’s products are prominently displayed in stores, enhancing visibility and attracting foot traffic.
  • In-Store Standards: Regularly inspect and ensure stores meet brand standards for cleanliness, layout, and visual merchandising, contributing to an optimal shopping experience.

Insights and Data Collection:

  • Activity Tracking and Reporting: Collect and submit detailed data on daily activities, using recommended tools to capture foot traffic, sales conversion rates, and other key metrics.
  • Competitor Analysis: Investigate competitor promotions, customer sentiment, and new offerings to provide the sales team with real-time competitive insights.
  • Customer Feedback: Gather and report on customer feedback and preferences observed in stores, helping the broader team understand trends and adapt marketing strategies.

Administrative & Merchandising Support:

  • Inventory Control and Verification: Conduct routine checks on inventory levels, verify invoices, and process orders as necessary to support store operations smoothly.
  • Level 1 Merchandising: Provide basic merchandising support, including product placement, promotional displays, and ensuring that products are well-organized and presented in stores.

Team Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, product) and external partners (retailers, vendors) to ensure cohesive execution of brand initiatives and consistency across stores.
  • Fostering Team Environment: Build a collaborative environment by promoting communication, sharing insights, and aligning on strategies with team members to drive joint objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Oversee the work of field support teams or retail staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure they meet performance standards and support collective goals.
