Position Overview:
In this role, the Research Scientist will be responsible for researching, developing, and optimizing AI models that drive lifelike, dynamic, and interactive human avatars. You will work at the intersection of AI, computer vision, natural language processing, and graphics to create realistic and highly functional avatars that can be used across various platforms such as virtual reality, augmented reality, gaming, customer service, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Development: Conduct research on state-of-the-art techniques in AI, machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision for creating realistic human avatars.
- Avatar Creation: Develop novel algorithms and models for the generation and animation of human-like avatars, including body movements, facial expressions, and natural language interactions.
- Natural Interaction Models: Design and implement models that enable avatars to engage in natural, real-time conversations using voice, gesture recognition, and emotion detection.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and product managers, to integrate AI-driven avatars into consumer-facing applications and platforms.
- Data Analysis & Experimentation: Analyze large datasets (e.g., 3D scans, video data) and develop training pipelines for enhancing avatar realism and interaction capabilities.
- Ethics & Fairness: Ensure the development of AI avatars respects privacy and ethical guidelines, and work to reduce bias in the models used to represent human characteristics.
- Publications & Patents: Stay ahead of the latest research by publishing in top-tier conferences and filing patents as required.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or a related field.
- Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision.
- Experience with 3D modeling, animation, and facial recognition technologies.
- Experience working with GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks), neural rendering, and/or human pose estimation.
- Proven track record of publishing research papers in respected AI or related conferences/journals.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
