Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the transport team, drivers, and supply team, promoting a positive work environment and high performance
- Develop a staff performance matrix to set performance expectations and goals and conduct regular reviews, provide training to improve skills and ensure adherence tooperating procedure, safety, and operational standards
- Conduct regular department meeting with Transport planner, Drivers, and Supply team to understand challenges face and resolve them
- Recruit and onboard new team members as needed to support operational need
- Oversee the scheduling, dispatch, and routing of the transportation fleet to optimize delivery times and reduce fuel costs and maintain fuel consumption and CO2 emissions record
- Monitor fleet utilization and recommend adjustments to maximize efficiency
- Analyse routes and delivery patterns to identify issue and opportunities for planning improvement.
- To oversee the local and cross border deployment.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including vehicle maintenance, safety inspections, and driver and supply assistant hours, working with relevant team to align process
- Develop and implement safety protocols to reduce accidents and ensure driver and supplyteam well-being.
- Conduct regular safety audits and site visit to develop training plan and inspections provide training on best practices, and address any non-compliance issues.
- Manage and handle operational incident and reporting process to provide preventive action and implementing the action proposed.
- Manage the transportation budget, focusing on cost control and efficient use of resources
- Track and report on transportation expenses, including fuel, maintenance, and labour costs.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to address any delivery issues and ensure transport team met customer requirements, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Working closely with customer service manager on escalated customer inquiries regarding transportation and delivery.
- Work closely with other departments to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve anylogistical challenges
- Establish KPIs on the all above for transport operations, including delivery times, on-timeperformance, fuel efficiency and staffs performance.
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics, preparing regular reports to top managementon the progress, performance with mitigation and improvement plan
- Use data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to drive better results.
