Job Description

The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading multi-disciplinary institute devoted to developing new paradigms for understanding biological functions in health and diseases from the perspective of cell, tissue and organ mechanics/dynamics and mechano-signal transduction. The institute operates on a fully integrated open-lab philosophy, with an extensive infrastructure supported by core facilities dedicated to technology such as state-of-the-art light microscopy, nano- and micro- fabrication, and computing.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Kanchanawong Lab's project studying the interplay between cell adhesion proteins and cell division. Using advanced microscopy and molecular manipulation techniques, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research within an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and design experiments related to cell adhesion proteins and cell division
  • Utilize advanced microscopy techniques to analyze biological processes
  • Assist in laboratory management, including inventory, ordering, and general lab upkeep
  • Collaborate closely with team members across disciplines to achieve research goals
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation and publications

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
  • Proven research experience demonstrated by publications in relevant areas
  • Proficiency in molecular and cell biology techniques such as molecular cloning, cell culture, and bioinformatic analysis
  • Prior experience with laboratory management is highly desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team
