We are partnered with an established bank in search of a Manager for thier Data Centre, to oversee the end-to-end operations and maintenance of data center facilities, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and adherence to stringent security and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Data Centre Operations & Maintenance:Lead 24/7 operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and operational standards, and maintain uptime and system availability.
Oversee facility infrastructure, including power, cooling, security, and network management to support high-density, mission-critical environments.
Conduct regular inspections and proactive maintenance to prevent disruptions.
- Cluster Supply Organisation Collaboration:Engage actively in a cross-functional team structure, working with agile methods that support rapid, flexible responses to changing conditions and customer needs.
Embrace iterative development practices, continuously enhancing products and services to deliver valuable functionalities to customers.
- Team Leadership & Development:Lead a team of data center technicians and engineers, guiding skill development, encouraging accountability, and fostering a “fail fast” approach to enable rapid correction and adaptation.
Share specialized knowledge across cells and chapters, maintaining open communication for regular, timely feedback.
- Strategic Planning & Process Improvement:Coordinate data center activities, including system installations, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance, aligning with the bank's digital strategy.
Manage the full product lifecycle, taking quality, compliance, and customer needs into account.
Implement agile quality assurance and risk management frameworks to ensure secure, reliable operations.
- Capacity & Resource Management:Anticipate capacity needs, optimize space, power, and cooling, and manage a budget to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining performance standards.
Organize and prioritize regular tasks, using a proactive approach to risk, compliance, and resource management.
- Security & Compliance:Ensure physical and data security, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001) and internal policies.
Coordinate disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) planning, ensuring frequent failover testing and readiness.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement:Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
Liaise with IT and business stakeholders to align data center activities with broader business goals.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Financial Services experience is a must
- Minimum of 7 years in data center operations
- At least 4 years in a management role in the banking or financial sector.
