Responsibilities:
- Involved in tender clarification meetings, negotiation meetings and “kick‐off” meetings with successful bidders and/or subcontractors.
- Oversees the preparation and interpretation of specifications, drawings, and regulations for M&E services/ systems/ installations, and the engineering calculations required for the design of projects.
- Liaises with architects, engineers, landscape architects, environmental scientists, builders, contractors, suppliers, and project owners to ensure design intentions are met.
- Leads the analysis and interpretation of reports on loading, labour, productivity, quality, materials and performance.
- Leads the analysis of risks associated with natural disasters such as fire and floods, and design of systems and services to meet appropriate standards.
- Review monthly reports on M&E activities and report to management.
- Provides advice to management, colleagues, clients, and others on technical problems related to M&E works.
- Identifies and establishes personnel training and development needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years of M&E working experience with contractors, construction projects and/or building variation works.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of M&E details, working drawings and local construction practices.
- Good knowledge of local codes and regulations.
- Ability to check combined services drawings and coordination problems with other trades.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, as well as draw detailed coordination drawings and sketches.
- Strong time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks/ projects at one time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence various stakeholders and build long‐term relationships.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize issues quickly.
- Ability to understand and analyse construction schedule and costing information.
