We are seeking a highly motivated research fellow to join our dynamic team at the School of Materials and Science Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of materials science, advanced manufacturing, robotics, and sensing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent research in areas related to material science and engineering in soft robotics/self-healing / soft interfaces
- Develop and implement robotic control systems
- Optimization of formulation for UV 3D printing / direct ink writing 3D printing
- Contribute to ongoing soft robotics research
- Design and prototype using CAD software and 3D printing technologies
- Collaborate with faculty and other researchers on interdisciplinary projects
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences
- Assist in mentoring students
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Material Science, Engineering, Robotics, Sensors, or a closely related field
- Strong background in formulations for 3D printing
- Experience in soft robotics applications
- Proficiency in CAD software and 3D printing technologies
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with machine learning and AI applications in engineering is advantageous
