Job Description

Overall Purpose Of The Job (Brief description of the primary purpose of this position)

IT Shared Services (ITSS) provide Service Desk, Infrastructure, and Application support services to business lines globally. The Infrastructure Engineer (Systems) role will engage primarily in Level 2 Systems infrastructure support as part of a larger Design, Build and Run function in the Systems and End User Computing stack in ITSS Support focus includes timely resolution of incidents, fulfilment of requests, and execution of changes.In a non-support function, the Infrastructure engineer can be called upon to participate in IT project-related activities.

  • Microsoft Active Directory (including AD Integrated DNS, DHCP)
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft File and Print Server
  • Office 365 Support
  • Microsoft Skype for Business
  • Non-Microsoft Technologies / Cloud Services Administration (Including but not limited to below)
  • Azure or AWS Public Cloud infrastructure
  • External Mail Gateway Services (SaaS or Appliance based)
  • External DNS Systems
  • Monitoring Tool Platform
  • Secure File sharing appliance
  • Backup/Restore Technologies
  • VDI and Application Virtualization Infrastructure
  • Encryption Infrastructure
  • Participate in Major Incident, Incident, Request, and Change resolution
  • Participate in project-related discussions and implementations
  • Participate in the post-incident review and problem management
  • Participate (where applicable) in release and availability management
  • Conduct Systems patching and remediation
  • Research and review emerging technologies as applicable to the environment.
  • Coordinate with Service Desk, L2/L3 support teams, and users around the globe for issue resolution
  • Understand and apply knowledge of the environment in order to deliver solutions that meet the needs of the business.
  • Work with Business Units, Application Development, and IT teams to deliver to business requirements
  • Orchestrate and work with key vendors.
  • Actively seek improvements to the team’s process.

Job Profile


Required Skills and Knowledge (Brief description of technical knowledge or skills needed to perform the job)

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast pace environment demonstrating autonomy in conforming to strategic intent while adhering to team values at all times
  • Mandatory expertise in Server Administration (Microsoft), VMWare, and Client-Server Networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP Stack, DNS/DHCP)
  • Proven experience in Public Cloud (Azure, AWS) management, deployment, and operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of server hardware (including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology).
  • Experience in Application Virtualization (XenApp), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Horizon or XenDesktop)
  • Technical knowledge of various MS Windows operating systems and database solutions
  • Experience software distribution management systems (e.g. Microsoft System Center)
  • Experience in monitoring products (E.g. Microsoft SCOM, Solarwinds)
  • Experience in using ITSM toolsets such as Service Now.
  • Understanding of computer server architectures, including Storage Area Networking (SAN), networking topics
  • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills. Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft’s Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Excellent knowledge of storage hardware (including Fiber channel, clustering, etc.)
  • Experience in Backup/Restore technologies (E.g. Cloud-based, Veeam, Symantec)
  • Must have an understanding and working knowledge of PC-based equipment and common PC-based applications.
  • Experience producing business-relevant presentations and technical-oriented writing is mandatory.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal and presentation skills.
