We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team, responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control for construction projects. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities (BOQ) based on architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost control analyses to ensure projects are financially viable.
- Assist in preparing tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules.
- Review and analyze contractor and supplier tenders, providing cost insights and recommendations for selection.
- Monitor project costs throughout the project lifecycle, comparing actual expenditures against budgets.
- Manage contract variations, cost overruns, and change orders while ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks to minimize financial impacts.
- Conduct value engineering exercises to ensure project quality within budget constraints.
- Assess and verify contractor and supplier payments, conducting site visits as required.
- Prepare interim and final payment schedules, ensuring accurate invoicing and compliance with contractual terms.
- Maintain clear records of all project costs, contracts, and documentation.
- Provide regular cost reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting variances and recommendations for budget adjustments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, infrastructure, or similar industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal aspects related to quantity surveying.
- Proficient in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
