Assistant Manager / Manager (Legal Technologist)
As a Legal Technologist, you will assist SILE in integrating technology into their work to improve process efficiency and effectiveness. This role centres on the development and implementation of digital solutions, requiring a comprehensive understanding of the current rules and policies related to Singapore Bar admission, including the Part A and Part B Courses and Examinations, as well as the Practice Training Period processes.
The successful candidate will be part of the Bar Admission and Examinations team, reporting to the Director of Bar Admission and Examinations and Legal Secretariat. Key responsibilities include:
- To assist in the development, implementation, and administration of SILE's technology transformation efforts in digitising its processes (“SILE Technology Solutions”)
- To train users on SILE’s Technology Solutions
- Monitor requests and escalate issues to the vendor or the Information Technology department as needed to facilitate problem resolution related to the SILE Technology Solutions
- To assist in the development, management and implementation of standard operating procedures, system and process of the department
- To assist with the administration and implementation of the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2024 and other related regulations, including processing of practice training period applications and being the key project manager of integrating IT systems into the process.
- To assist the work of the Legal Secretariat
- Undertaking any ad hoc projects or duties
The successful candidate may anticipate placement or contract renewal at the end of the 3-year term based on performance.
Requirements
- A recognised bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable university, preferably in an IT-related discipline.
- Candidates who are keen on regulatory work and legal administration, and who have a law degree and are newly qualified are also welcome to apply.
- Keen interest in IT and legal regulation is necessary for this role. The ability to code is a plus.
- Good command in English and good writing and communication skills.
- Can work independently with initiative and minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently, whilst maintaining a high quality of work and attention to detail.
