Job Requirements
Part A
- Research and identify new business opportunities of coal trading, non-coal trading- including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, strategic alliances products and services - or enhance our presence in existing markets
- Strategic overview - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the new business
- Responsible for successfully building up trading & operation capability in new products (non-thermal coal) and new markets. Be accountable for overall targets (non-monetary metrics and P&L) set for the new section.
- Under the new products:
a. Responsible for contracts drafting & review, co-negotiation, administration and tracking contractual obligation performance of counterparties. You will co-ordinate with Legal services.
b. Responsible to oversee completeness and timeliness of cargo/shipping instruction transmission, drafting and issuance of documents in compliance with contracts and/or LC conditions.
c. Responsible to oversee vessel tracking and liaise with suppliers on cargo readiness, loading/unloading matters & cargo documentation to ensure smooth cargo logistics.
d. Responsible to oversee laytime calculation and settlement of demurrage/dispatch claims, charterparty co-negotiation and review.
e. Responsible for overseeing Ops team for drafting LC to buyer, ensuring buyer LC received in order, preparing application to bank for issuing LC, preparing invoices/cargo documents for LC negotiation, and ensuring timely payment from buyer LC.
f. Responsible to monitor trade receivables outstanding and chase up with counterparties for settlement.
g. Responsible to ensure deals, contracts, shipment logistics schedule, invoices and payment settlements are promptly input into CTM system in compliance with trading policy guidelines and CTM workflow procedures.
Part B
- Development of Korea Market for coal and non-coal products.
- Assist in developing banking relationships with Korean banks.
- Special project or any other works as assigned and require by senior management
Skill & Competencies
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Geology and Mineral study or Mining Engineering.
. At least 10 years of experience in Coal trading.
· Familiar with incoterm and shipping.
· Good in communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Wide network of existing suppliers and clients that you can port over.
· Experience working with major coal markets such as Korea, China, India, and Vietnam will be a plus.
· Knowledge of a third Asian language will be an advantage especially in Korean (writing and speaking).
· Detailed knowledge of world coal industry, shipping, and coal quality basics.
· A go-getter and self-starter with desire to excel and has an open mindset.
· Good relationship with Korean banker.
