Job Description
You shall work under the direction of the Finance Manager. Your key responsibilities include:
Financial Management
- Responsible for finance functions including month-end and year-end closing.
- Maintain partial or full set of accounts, including audit schedules.
- Maintain full set of accounts across LCSS’s programmes and student care centres, including maintaining general ledger
- Process vendor payments and staff claims.
- Cashflow management to support operational needs.
- Prepare and submit quarterly GST reports in compliance to statutory requirements.
- Ensures compliance with audit and statutory requirements.
- Reporting for government grants and funding received.
- Process donations and issue tax-deductible receipts for qualifying contributions.
- Monitor and manage fixed deposits and other investments.
Management Reporting
- Analysis of budget and year-on-year financial variances.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and annual budgeting.
- Prepare periodic management reports to support management’s decision-making.
Governance and Risk Management
- Assist in preparing board governance documentation to maintain compliance and support best practices.
- Provide administrative support for risk management activities, including organizing documentation and reporting on compliance.
- Ensure adherence to LCSS policies and statutory requirements by assisting in routine compliance checks.
- Assist in ongoing initiatives to drive improvements in business processes and corporate governance.
Administrative Support
- Provide support to the corporate office’s administrative functions, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Other Responsibilities
- Undertake any additional duties or ad-hoc projects as assigned by the CEO or Deputy Director, Corporate Services.
The desired candidate should be/possess
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent relevant qualifications.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, with experience in the social services sector preferred but not necessary.
- Familiarity with Singapore Charity Accounting Standards and Corporate Governance for Charities.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including VLOOKUP functions).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates with a mid-career change and some background in finance will be considered.
