Role and Responsibilities

  • To plan and implement the curriculum under the guidance of the Centre Leader to ensure a well-run, purposeful, engaging and child-centred programme responsive to children’s needs and aligned to the principles spelt out in the standard ECDA: Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Curriculum and Centre Philosophy
  • Create a learner-centred environment where children have the freedom to exercise their inquisitive minds to explore, experiment, question, acquire knowledge and skills and create new knowledge where children can explore, experiment, and interact to learn.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and enrolment records and appropriate confidential reports.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with children, parents, peers, and community.
  • Participate actively in assessing the needs of the children.
  • Schedule and conduct parent-child- teacher conference; work with family to devise learning and development strategies as necessary.
  • Work with and support the Centre Leader, colleagues and other non-academic staff at the Centre in enhancing the quality of children’s educational experiences.
  • Prepare termly newsletter to be uploaded online.
  • Mentor, evaluate and plan assignments for teacher assistants.
  • Contribute talents and professional expertise towards the Centre’s initiatives, educational programmes and projects.
  • Be involved in simple action research projects.
  • Keep abreast of the latest educational development and to continually upgrade one’s skills and knowledge.
  • Execute ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Centre Leader

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 GCE ‘O’ Level credits with a pass in English; and Diploma in Pre-school Education – Teaching (DPE-T) / Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE-T) / Specialist Dip in ECE or its equivalent recognized by ECDA
  • Those who are undergoing Early Childhood courses are welcome to apply.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in an Early Childhood Care & Education(ECCE) settings
  • Excellent Soft skills

Weekdays:

Shifts:

7.00 am - 4.00 pm/

8.00 am – 5.00pm/

9.00 am – 6.00 pm/

10.00 am – 7.00 pm

Alternate Saturdays:

9.00 am - 1.00 pm
