POSITION SUMMARY
The System Engineer is responsible for managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure, installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining systems, and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.
This role covers the overall companies’ Systems and Infrastructure, and the System Management Tools which ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies, and automating business processes using customized operating systems and IT databases.
You will:
- Work closely with teams that include software developers, administrators, solution architects, network engineer and other engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission-critical infrastructure.
- Work with business analysts and partners to gather and analyse requirements for new or updated systems, or with quality assurance engineers and testing specialists to test and validate system designs and functionality.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Supervise project's systems engineering events such as monitoring, organizing, and manage a project's tasks, assess and calculate the technical features of a project plan to ensure that the systems engineering
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Master administrator
You will possess strong ethics with high level of trust in managing system administration.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement those fixes.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
Project Management
- Supervise a project's systems engineering events as performed by the technical team.
- Monitor, organize, and manage a project's tasks.
- Assess and calculate the technical features of a project plan to ensure that the systems engineering procedures are operating correctly.
Technical Support
You have experience, and able to work independently in:
- Providing EUC support for the organization.
- Providing 2nd and 3rd level support.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
REQUIREMENTS
Education / Experience:
- Diploma / Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
- CSEP / Microsoft Azure Architecture Certified / System Engineer certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as information security, systems engineering, integration, infosystems architecture.
- Skills in systems problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work as part of a team, independently and make decisions.
- Strong mathematical concepts and analytical skills.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and ability to work well under pressure.
- Able to explore new ideas and innovation, partner with key team members across the organization to deliver effective IT solutions.
- Possessing good working knowledge of information security, integration, and data architecture on top of technical knowledge of hardware, software, and networks.
- Experience with virtualization, cloud computing, and Microsoft Azure.
- Background in business administration, project management or related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills that are essential to work well with global business, technical, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain functions across various geographies and cultures.
- Experienced and independent in engaging stakeholders in China and Hong Kong on system and infra issues.
- Possess strong and effective communication skills, with proficiency in both written and spoken English to facilitate interactions with local and regional teams.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to travel and take on short overseas assignments on an as needed basis.
