Position Title: Assistant Manager (Operations)

Organization Overview:
Metta Home for the Disabled and Metta Home Day Activity Centre (慈光乐陶苑及智障日间活动中心) were established in December 2000 to provide community care options for adults with intellectual disabilities aged 18 to 55. We are dedicated to equipping individuals with the skills needed for independent living and social integration, promoting an enhanced quality of life. Funded by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth, and Sports (MCYS), Metta Home accommodates 103 residents, while the Day Activity Centre provides care for up to 50 beneficiaries.
Our multidisciplinary team, including social workers, nurses, and training officers, provides holistic care to ensure well-rounded support and works closely with primary caregivers.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Manager (Operations) to oversee the daily operations of Metta Home for the Disabled. The ideal candidate should have experience in a home setting working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, or possess a degree/master's in psychology, and have a strong background in operational management. This role involves ensuring smooth operations, maintaining facilities, managing the operational team, and delivering high-quality services to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Ensure seamless daily office operations and effective facilities management.
- Oversee the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and all operational processes.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency, compliance, and service standards.
- Resolve operational issues promptly and effectively, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Plan and direct operational policies, objectives, and initiatives to meet the evolving needs of the Home.
- Manage operational costs, risk assessments, and audit processes.
Team Supervision and Development:
- Supervise and review the performance of the operations team, ensuring high service standards.
- Provide training and support to the team, promoting best practices in service delivery.
- Participate in recruitment, staff training, and performance management activities.
- Assist in creating in-house training programs and ensure continuous professional development.
Administrative and Reporting:
- Develop and enhance administrative systems, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare and submit reports to management on operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with Fire, Workplace, and Health Safety protocols.
- Manage transport requests and oversee the team of drivers.
- Plan and execute new services as required to meet the needs of the Home.
Program Oversight:
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Home Day Care Activity and Allied Health teams.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably within the Social Service Sector or a related field working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Minimum Diploma/Degree in Business Management or related fields. or A degree or master's in Psychology or related fields preferred.
- Experience in a home setting, working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities (or ASD).
- Strong leadership, initiative, and problem-solving skills to handle operational challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, discipline, and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Self-motivated, meticulous, and responsible.
