Job Description
- Develop and deploy cost modeling tool on chemicals manufacturing (solvents, basic & specialty chemicals, lab/pharma-grade).
- Simulate should-cost of chemicals manufacturing to support cost savings initiatives and sourcing strategies.
- Build-up regional cost database on chemicals & cost drivers. Track and analyze trend movement & price impact.
- Apply cost analysis to identify gaps/opportunities and propose solutions to support cost reduction/optimization.
- Conduct supply-market data research and provide market intelligence/insights to support Procurement strategies & competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with suppliers & internal manufacturing in cost model development, process efficiency improvement and alternative sourcing.
- Future scope to expand cost modelling coverage beyond chemicals category.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ Degree or above in Engineering/Science or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in one or more of the following roles in Chemical field - Manufacturing/Process engineer, Costing/Sourcing engineer, Supply-market intelligence analyst, or related function/role.
- Technical background/expertise in manufacturing operations & requirements for chemicals (solvents, basic & specialty chemicals, lab/pharma-grade)
- Good understanding on the cost profile/structure in chemicals manufacturing (raw material, process, overhead, regulation).
- Effective MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Data analytics, digitalization & AI skills are a plus.
- Ability to independently manage and execute multiple projects in parallel, and drive resolutions of complex problems.
- Effective communication & collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, globally.
