RESPONSIBILITIES
A Job Placement Executive is responsible for providing job matching, job coaching and job support services for clients in open employment. As part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, which include Allied Health Professionals such as the Psychologist & Occupational Therapist, they provide career counselling, behavioural and work performance interventions in assisting clients sustain their employment. A Job Placement Executive has to also work closely with their clients' caregivers, existing & potential employers as well as partners & stakeholders such as training providers, community case & social workers, training officers & other job coaches in jointly providing holistic job support to their clients for employment success & sustainability. The Job Placement Executive should have great communication, time management & problem-solving skills. They should be able to work well both independently & in a team with integrity, sensitivity, knowledge and drive to support & advocate for their clients with intellectual disability.
Job Matching, Interviews & Work Trials
- Work with the Occupational Therapist to match clients to suitable jobs
- Reach out to potential employers to market, educate & advocate for their clients' abilities
- Support, prepare & arrange for clients to attend work preparation training, job interviews & work trials
- Work closely with clients' caregivers & stakeholders to market & manage job expectations
- Recommend, record & review clients' job matching plans & progress
- Negotiate & advocate for clients' employment rights
Job Placement, Coaching & Support
- Work closely with the Occupational Therapist & Psychologist to successfully place, integrate & sustain clients in open employment
- Provide job coaching, mentoring, career counselling & other support to help clients be independent & overcome performance issues, barriers & challenges faced at their workplace to sustain employment
- Record & review client' progress & job coaching/support efforts
Collaborate with Caregivers, Employers & other Stakeholders
- Educate, communicate & work collaboratively with clients' caregivers/case workers & employers to jointly support & sustain clients' employment
- Collaborate with other departments (such as the Employment Development Centres, MINDS Institute, Caregiver Support Services, Me-Too Club, Strategic Development) to provide holistic & other positive client outcomes such as caregiver support, self-advocacy, peer support group & socio-recreational opportunities & client success stories to empower & engage clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree holder and/or with 2 years of relevant experience in the sector
- Qualification in Community Services, Disability Studies, Advanced Certificate in Supported Employment, Autism Studies
- Other Industrial / Vocational skill certificates, training & experience in ACTA/ACLP, Employment Law, Food Hygiene, HR, F&B, Hotels, Cleaning, Retail & Laundry will be an advantage
- Experience working with persons with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
