Responsibilities:
- Build cost models for new manufacture and repair projects or due to variation of work scope and incorporate key factors that will influence costs, margins or project delivery like delivery lead-time, resources availability etc.
- Breakdown the project into sub–elements for the purpose of estimating time and resources taken at each activity.
- Obtain prices from vendors for raw materials, parts / sub-components, sub-assemblies, services for the purposes of building job cost models.
- Liaise with supervisors / charge hands to obtain the processing time for activities. Liaise with Design Engineer regards Engineering hours and with Project Engineers for estimating other cost elements.
- Visit shop floor to understand repair work scope. Liaise with QC / Project team in getting additional information related to initial inspection report / repair work scope.
- Liaise with Engineering to obtain proposal / layout drawing.
- Log and maintain requests for quotation in the quotations register. Launch quotations and cost models in MasterControl for approval. Submit approved quotations and where required proposal drawing to customer, either directly or through Country Manager / Riser Manager / Rental Manager, as applicable. Clarify customer queries.
- Handover secured orders to subsea project / IRM team and fill-out subsea project kick-off checklist, upon order confirmation.
- Upload customer documents / specifications into MasterControl, at order handover stage.
- Maintain a list of open quotations. Review quotations backlog on a weekly basis.
- Work with respective sales team to identify quotations that require follow-up, with the aim of converting them into potential orders. Obtain information on the reasons for losing bids, with the aim of identifying areas for improvement.
- Prepare standard costing templates and quotation templates. Update terms and conditions, payment terms, as necessary. Maintain customer contact list, historical data on sales quotations.
- Submit customer’s terms and conditions in legal portal. Review sales orders. Upload purchase orders for contract review and submit weekly comments on subsea sales, when necessary.
- Verify Third party actual costs (eg. Freight costs, travel costs) are within budget at job closing stage. Where it exceeds the budget, quote for variation costs.
Requirements :
- Tertiary education in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sub-sea product/project costing in manufacturing environment within the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Able to read engineering drawings (machining / fabrication drawings) and to understand assemblies.
- Familiarity with API 6A, API 16A, API 16F specifications / equipment preferred.
- Computer literate with excellent knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
