Purpose of the Role:
This is a hybrid marketing and cafe operations role. SCS runs Cafe Campung at our office premise that aims to promote outreach and befriending of cancer patients. Imagine running a cafe with a cause.
Reporting to the manager, the Café Supervisor will be part of the PSS Community Development Team (CDT), focusing on Café operations as well as the outreach efforts of the café.
Your primary role is to ensure the setup and smooth operations Café Campung. You will provide administrative, marketing, planning, training, and operational support based on the proposal model as part of the café’s initiative.
Also, as a staff under PSS CDT, you will support BEACON (Befriend, Education and Advocate for a Cancer Outreach Network) programme involving befriending where the café is involved.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing
- Plan, establish and support café’s promotional efforts within SCS and NCCS. Be the bridge between patients and prospective stakeholders involved in the process. This may include, but not limited to special event planning, café collaterals design and print.
- Drive social media marketing of the café to build digital footprint on the café.
- Develop a guide for healthcare professionals within NCCS to enhance word of mouth outcome and patrons who want privacy.
- Encourage positive interactions among café patrons.
2. Operations& Customer Service
- To educate café staff on customer service and handling of difficult patrons effectively. Ensure reasonable quality of customer services at all times; and support service recovery and complain matters when required.
- To operate opening, running and closing of café based on SOP. To maintain hygiene and cleanliness of café and equipment.
- Rostering of café manpower to ensure operations run smoothly during café opening hours.
- Effective management of café inventories (food, drinks, ingredients); especially expiry dates and stock on low quantity.
- To do stock take and update list.
- To manage liaisons for all café vendors, which includes but not limited to (i) café machines, (ii) coffee beans/milk, (iii) pastries, (iv) any other café vendors.
3. Administrative Support
- Provide continuous improvement and upkeeping of café directions where needed i.e. in any relevant workflow processes or work relations among café staff.
- Ensure café data collection are accurate.
- Collate daily indicators (e.g. tallying of profiling with drinks served, total donation received, feedback form).
- Prepare monthly report and café impart report.
4. Café Training
- To provide OJT café training for new café staff.
- To manage internally or coordinate with vendor to support ongoing barista training maintain reasonable quality of café drinks.
- Manage and coordinate periodic café staff feedback session to enhance SOP.
5. Volunteer Management
- To coordinate BEACON/Patient Ambassador volunteers for café befriending purposes.
- To work with internal stakeholders such as Cancer Care Navigators, Patient Ambassadors programme to ensure constant flow of befrienders to support cancer navigation.
Criteria:
- Diploma or degree in any discipline.
- Minimally 2-3 years of F&B and marketing working experience
- Has experience providing person-focused care and/or basic emotional support.
- Team player and enjoy working as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Bilingual, though having the ability to speak in more than two languages is advantageous.
- Ability to communicate in local dialect(s) is preferred.
