You will be part of the Centre for Domestic Employees (CDE) that champions for the fair treatment of domestic workers in Singapore and promotes cohesive social integration among the community.
- Provide advice and assistance to Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) and employers on MDW employment related matters. This includes attending to urgent distressed MDWs onsite when required.
- Be part of the team rostered to attend to 24-hour helpline calls, generic email, and social media channels queries
- Escalate possible breach(es) of regulations related to employment and welfare of MDWs to the authorities and facilitate authorities’ investigations
- Conduct engagement and facilitate any matters related to MDWs sheltered by CDE
- Build and expand network with communities (physical and online platforms such as Facebook) to reach out to more MDWs and understand trends pertaining to MDW landscape, including engagement with stakeholders e.g. embassies, employment agencies, employers.
- Perform administrative duties such as updating Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for records.
- Assist in outreach and engagement when required and be part of the team to organise CDE events/activities
- Recruit and engage volunteers for CDE
- Any other duties as assigned by the management
Job Requirements
- Diploma in any Discipline
- Strong emotional resilience, good communication skills and positive attitude
- Ability to multi-task and manage difficult situations
- Passionate in social work
- Able to work on weekends (mainly Sundays) and when the need arises, beyond working hours
- Comfortable with offsite (outdoor areas, hospitals, police stations, etc.) duties
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrate willingness to learn IT systems
- Familiar with usage of social media (e.g., Facebook, Instragram, LinkedIn, Tiktok etc)
- Ability to speak native language(s) of MDWs and experienced in social work would be an added advantage
