Senior Executive, Overseas Agent Coordination – Freight Forwarding
The International Sales Coordinator – Freight Forwarding plays a crucial role in managing relationships with overseas freight forwarders to support and expand our global business operations. This role involves coordinating quotations, facilitating cross-trade shipments, and ensuring seamless communication with international agents. By understanding the specific requirements of overseas partners and aligning solutions accordingly, this role contributes directly to the growth and success of the organisation’s freight forwarding services.
Responsibilities:
• Understand the specific needs of overseas freight forwarders and provide tailored solutions to meet their needs.
• Prepare, submit, and manage quotations for overseas freight forwarders, ensuring prompt and accurate responses aligned with their specifications.
• Handle cross-trade quotations and establish relationships with overseas agents to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Maintain regular communication with overseas freight forwarders to provide shipment updates, ensuring transparency and alignment with partner expectations.
• Collaborate with overseas agents to convert potential leads into active sales, contributing to the growth of international trade lanes.
• Achieve a high rate of confirmed business by following up consistently on submitted quotations and nurturing relationships with overseas partners.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by management to support business objectives.
Requirements:
• Solid understanding of freight operations and sales processes, able to bridge both functions effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in building and managing relationships with overseas agents/freight forwarders, particularly for nomination business.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the freight forwarding industry (Air & Ocean) with comprehensive exposure to commercial and operational roles, preferably with a focus on ocean freight.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to the company’s business growth objectives.
• Proficiency in English for liaising with overseas agents and Mandarin for effectively engaging with Mandarin-speaking counterparts, both internally and externally.
