Program Development:
Design and implement personalized and group programs that meet residents' needs and collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate therapeutic activities into care plans.
Team Management and Leadership:
Supervise and lead program coordinators, ensuring effective delivery, staff development, and a collaborative, innovative team environment.
Funding and Grant Writing:
Identify funding opportunities and write grant applications to support program development and sustainability, ensuring alignment with funding requirements.
Resident Engagement:
Foster an inclusive environment by encouraging resident participation and adjusting programs based on feedback to enhance satisfaction and engagement.
Staff Coordination and Training:
Train program coordinators on best practices for program facilitation and resident engagement, while promoting teamwork to create a supportive atmosphere for residents.
Community Outreach:
Build partnerships with local organizations, volunteers, and healthcare providers to enrich programs, and organize community events to connect residents with the wider community.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness to ensure compliance with standards, and prepare reports on outcomes and participation for management and regulatory bodies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of program activities, participation, and feedback, and communicate updates to residents, families, and staff regularly.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, specifically in a healthcare or long-term care setting
- Proven experience in grant writing and securing funding for community-based or healthcare programs
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams in a healthcare or social services setting
- Comfortable travelling to other centres
- Strong knowledge of geriatric care, therapeutic recreation, and team management skills
- Proactive in addressing challenges, with strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with grant management software
