A Research Officer position is available in Dr. Anand Andiappan Lab at the Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN). The RO position is to support the research work of the team that focuses on studying the role of immune system in eczema and allergies. The candidate will work on primary cells from cohorts and cell culture systems towards understanding immune pathophysiology of disease. Additional work involves cellular and stimulation assays with flow cytometry and FACS analysis along with imaging by confocal microscopy, and associated data analysis with statistical tested.
Job Duties:
- Managing safety in the lab
- Creating SOPs and lab risk assessments
- Maintaining lab inventories
- Perform other lab administrative duties and operations such as ordering and tracking lab budget
- Experience with human and mouse blood/tissue sample handling and processing (e.g. isolation of specific immune cell population) and knowledge of immune cell biology is encouraged
- Experience with flow cytometry analysis for different immune cell population and functional immune assays will be an advantage
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Immunology, Life sciences, Biomedical sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or equivalent
- Preferably with at least 5 years experience in molecular biology techniques, immunology, cancer cell biology, cell culture and flow cytometry
- Precise, detailed-oriented and able to follow complex protocols
- Willing to learn new experimental procedures and troubleshoot assays
- Good team player with good interpersonal skills
- Good spoken and written communication skills
- Candidates are expected to be highly motivated to work in research and able to perform tasks independently.
