Delivery Assistant cum Retail Operations Manager

  • Assisting the store manager in all areas of daily business operations, human resources, customer service and merchandising.
  • Coordinating, monitoring and reporting on daily operations.
  • Recruiting, training and supervising employees.
  • Managing employee schedules, conducting performance reviews and enforcing disciplinary actions.
  • Monitoring and maintaining suitable store inventory levels.
  • Assisting with the development of new sales and recruitment strategies.
  • Ensuring the store environment complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized and aesthetically pleasing store front.
  • Resolving customer complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that store policies and procedures are followed.
  • Providing accurate information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
  • Answering customers’ questions about specific products/services
  • Keeping the store fully stocked
  • Maintaining the highest level of visual merchandising and store conditions
  • Conduct price and feature comparisons to facilitate purchasing
  • Cross-sell products
  • Ensure racks are fully stocked
  • Manage returns of merchandise
  • Coordinate with the Retail Sales Representatives team to provide excellent customer service (especially during peak times)
  • Inform customers about discounts and special offers
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services
  • Delivering exceptional sales services for improved customer satisfaction
  • Interacting with customers and identifying their needs and preferences
  • Operating cash registers and point-of-sale machines
  • Receiving and verifying the quality and quantity of new shipments
  • Enforcing in-store security and health and safety procedures and regulations
  • Assist to condition fresh flowers and maintain the flower shop's cleanliness
  • Assist to craft/arrange floral arrangements and bouquets (including but not limited to hand bouquets, table flowers and centerpieces, hampers)
  • Assist to prepare and pack fresh flower arrangements and other materials required for daily maintenance, floral set ups which includes preparing floral containers, required props, floral foam and floral carts for storage, refrigeration and delivery
  • Assist to deliver flower arrangements, and touch up flowers if there are any placements arranged beforehand
  • Assist to do daily routine maintenance, or as and when required to ensure flowers remain in good condition
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks assigned by superiors
  • Coach and support other team members
  • Hire and train new employees for the sales floor or other departments (e.g. shipping and receiving)
  • Maintain and monitor store inventory
  • Ensure that the store is clean, safe and presentable for customers
  • Greet and assist customers as necessary when other sales associates are busy
  • Conduct regular audits of the store’s physical and practical condition to ensure quality
  • Maintain product levels appropriately
  • Interact with the public via social media and maintain the store’s online presence
  • Process sales when necessary
  • Generate and review daily sales report
