TRANSLATOR

Job Scope:

As an on-site Translator , you will be responsible for translating a variety of content across multiple industries. You will be expected to deliver high-quality, accurate translations while maintaining the tone, style, and cultural relevance of the original content. You will work directly with project managers and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and meet the client’s expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translation:
  Translate written materials with a high level of accuracy. This includes documents, reports, emails, marketing materials, technical manuals, legal documents, and more, depending on the industry.
• Cultural Adaptation:
  Adapt content to reflect cultural nuances, regional variations, and local idioms, ensuring that the translation resonates with the target audience.
• Proofreading and Editing:
  Review and edit your own translations for clarity, grammar, consistency, and accuracy. Ensure that all final deliverables meet company and client quality standards.
• Client Interaction:
  Work closely with project managers and clients to clarify translation requirements, preferences, and specific terminology, ensuring the translation aligns with client needs.
• Terminology Management:
  Maintain and update a glossary of specialized terms for consistent use across all projects, especially in industries like legal, medical, technical, or finance.
• Timely Delivery:
  Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
• Collaboration:
  Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other translators, editors, and language professionals to ensure project success and share knowledge across the team.

Requirements:

• Fluency in:
  Native or near-native fluency. A deep understanding of grammar, syntax, and cultural context in both languages.
• Experience in Translation:
  Experience with a variety of content types (e.g., legal, technical, marketing, medical) is preferred.
• Attention to Detail:
  Strong attention to detail and accuracy in translation, proofreading, and editing. Ability to spot errors or inconsistencies and rectify them swiftly.
• Industry Knowledge (Optional):
  Familiarity with specialized terminology in specific industries such as legal, technical, medical, or finance is a plus.
• Education:
  Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Communication Skills:
  Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with clients and colleagues in a professional and effective manner.
• Time Management:
  Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Ability to translate both technical and creative content.
• Experience with localization of software, apps, or multimedia content.
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
