Senior Software Engineer (Retail POS system)
Responsibilities
- Work closely with IT Application Manager to deliver projects, enhancements and continuous improvement to the system.
- Provide business analysis, requirements gathering and solutioning for POS (Point of Sales), interfaces and services in the Retail work environment.
- Work closely with business users to understand and determine the underlying needs for the required changes.
- Work closely with appointed vendor to achieve resolution and smooth completion of all projects and enhancements.
- Translate user requirements and design into high quality code.
- Perform Unit Testing, System Testing and ensure that all critical and high-severity bugs are addressed.
- Prepare and update comprehensive system documentation.
- Provide support in day-to-day system operation to ensure smooth uninterrupted system operation to business.
- Provide second level production support, taking ownership and resolve production issues.
- Provide IT or operational support in Retail Events.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology related discipline or its equivalent.
- Experience in software engineering, with a focus on developing retail POS systems.
- Extensive experience with C/AL and AL programming languages.
- Experience in integrating LS Retail with other systems such as ERP, CRM, and e-commerce platforms.
- Prior experience in implementing or migrating to a new POS system is highly desired.
- Write clean, scalable code in C/AL, AL, or other relevant programming languages.
- Strong knowledge of LS Retail POS, Back Office, and ERP integration.
- Experience with Visual Studio Code and Git version control.
