Job Summary
- Responsible for supporting the Assistant Banquet Operations Manager in overseeing all banquet operations and setups.
- Ensure that function venues are prepared according to client requirements for the seamless execution of events.
- Ensure all setup and closing duties are completed as assigned.
- Guide clients by offering professional insights and advice on event planning.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Report to the Assistant Banquet Operations Manager, ensuring all banquet operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Set up function venues according to event orders, ensuring adequate furniture and equipment are available.
- Gain knowledge of F&B banquet services and different room configurations.
- Request and maintain sufficient manpower, inventory, food, and beverage supplies for all functions.
- Coordinate with internal and external parties to deliver a high level of service and ensure quality food is served promptly.
- Monitor and conduct inventory checks on beverage stock and other operating equipment.
- Supervise and train casual banquet staff, ensuring they follow proper grooming guidelines.
- Track and record laundry movement, maintaining an accurate stock balance of linen.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
- Oversee all operations, including setup and event execution, in the absence of the Assistant Banquet Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness in banquet stores, kitchen, and function spaces after each event; address any issues as required.
- Conduct safety briefings for events (training will be provided).
- Demonstrate basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- To anticipate, acknowledge, and respond promptly to guests' requests.
- To complete all assigned closing duties before signing out.
- To perform supporting tasks in accordance with banquet procedures.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent work experience in the service industry.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, those without experience are also welcome to apply.
- Possesses WSQ Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred).
- Team player with a pleasant personality and a service-oriented approach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, results-driven, independent, creative, and resourceful.
- Able to perform shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
- Knowledgeable in F&B operations and safety standards.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Willing and able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
