RESPONSIBILITIES

Assistant Senior Social Worker, Family Protection
Job Purpose
- Co-lead multi-disciplinary teams engaged in high-risk casework, family violence and other protection work, sexual assault recovery program.
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to implement community development initiatives.
- Provide practice supervision to junior Social Workers and support Senior/Lead Social Workers in elevating the standard of professional practice.
Case Management
- Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments, integrating a variety of information and utilizing appropriate risk and needs assessment tools and frameworks for all cases.
- Conduct intake assessments for new intakes, assessing its service need and fit using organization's frameworks and risk assessment tools.
- Prepare, review and endorse social reports and other reports as assigned by Head and Senior Management.
- Lead multi-disciplinary case conferences as part of the intervention process, guiding junior workers in facilitating similar case conferences.
- Use organizational frameworks to conduct holistic assessments, considering resilience capacity and risk assessment.
- Apply a logical thought process to case conceptualization and assessment, formulating effective case intervention plans.
Practice Supervision
- Supervise junior social workers and engage in continuous personal development. Conduct supervision according to organizational practice standards to ensure alignment and adherence to professional standards.
Group Work
- Supervise the facilitation of groupwork interventions.
- Evaluate the progress and effectiveness of groupwork interventions within the organization to ensure the ongoing relevance of our services.
Professional Practice
- Demonstrate professional practice and role clarity with confidence. Defend the role and practice during conversations with key stakeholders in accordance with the organization's vision, mission, and best practice standards, including ethical, reflexive, and collaborative practice.
- Programme Design and Implementation:
- Lead the implementation of standards of care, organizational health policies, procedures, and programs.
Research
- Review service delivery models aligned with evidence-based practices.
- Community Work & Media Engagement
- Design, implement, and evaluate new community outreach and development initiatives by mobilizing community resources, social service providers, and volunteers.
- Support CCPS media engagement; working together with Corporate Communication Team
- Draft interview angles that are aligned with Project StART's lobbying angle
- Take on the spokesperson role if assigned accordingly.
- Give talks, conduct training, sharing with different stakeholders on different services of Project StART
Requirements:
- Possess a Bachelor's / Graduate Diploma / Master in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct (post qualification) social work experience [especially in Casework & Counselling].
- Experience in providing case and clinical supervision to social/case workers.
- Experience working with high-risk (family violence) cases.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to keep calm when there is pressure or tension.
- Enjoys working in a vibrant and fast-paced environment
- Excellent with time and task management skills
- Able to prioritise under tight deadlines
- Team player with an ability to function effectively.
- Registered Social Worker preferred.
Degree/Graduate Diploma in Social Work
