Cost Section Supervisor Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of cost engineers, providing guidance, support, and training as necessary.
- Develop and implement cost engineering strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate cost estimation and control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop project budgets and cost plans.
- Conduct analysis and evaluation of project costs, identifying potential risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Perform cost forecasting and variance analysis to track project performance and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Provide cost engineering expertise and guidance during the bidding and proposal process to ensure accurate cost estimation and competitiveness.
- Review and approve cost estimates, change orders, and contractor invoices to ensure compliance with project specifications and budget constraints.
- Maintain cost databases and cost estimating tools, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and accessibility for cost engineering activities.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate supplier quotations and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Certified Cost Engineer (CCE) is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of cost engineering principles, techniques, and industry best practices.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and practices.
- Proficient in using cost engineering software and tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
