This role reports to the Senior Director, Human Resources, North & Southeast Asia and includes providing HR support to our South Korea team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintains high visibility and is the managers and employee's first point of contact for HR related interactions and concerns
- Supports implementation of corporate policies, programs and procedures
- Assist in performance management process
- Provide job and compensation related support
- Partner with recruitment team to ensure a smooth recruitment process for managers and candidates
- Responds to HR statutory requirements from government and regulatory agencies
- Contributes to maintaining the Employee Handbook (or equivalent) which explains all relevant processes and procedures, employment conditions & benefit programs
- Work with vendors to support work visa applications where required, insurance renewals, etc.
- Facilitates collaborative problem-solving strategies through effective communication with employees, managers and other HR colleagues
- Builds and maintain effective working relationships with regional and global HR teams and cross functional relationships within APAC.
- Supports/Guides local committee to organise employee events
- Supports Special Projects whenever necessary
- Manage the day-to-day HR operations including but not limited to:
- Updates to HRIS (Workday) system ensuring data integrity/accuracy
- Guide managers on existing policies and processes related to New Hires, Terminations and other employee life cycle changes
- Probation-Regularisation process management
- Benefits enrolment and cancellation, and all insurance matters
- Responds to managers and employees’ queries in the HR Mailbox e.g., certificate of employment requests, benefits queries, etc.
- Maintaining personnel files according to both company and statutory requirements
- Conducts audits to ensure HR documentation and HRIS are in-sync
- Keeping the HR intranet site up to date, and
other administrative duties assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
- Confidentiality – understanding and respecting the confidentiality and non-disclosure requirements that come with this position
- Bilingual – English & Korean
- Strong attention to detail, works with a sense of urgency and prompt follow-up
- Proven work experience successfully supporting HR and employment matters in Japan and/or South Korea, preferably in the IT&T industry
- Takes initiative to collaborate and build strong professional relationships
- Familiar with employment laws in Japan/South Korea
- Strong HRIS system (preferably Workday) experience with the capability to work with and present HR data for key HR metrics
- Professional maturity in responding to the HR needs of a software technology company and approaches work with a growth mindset
- Resourceful and organized with strong interpersonal & communication skills (oral and written) guided by cultural awareness
- Immigration experience (employment passes and visa requirements) an added advantage
- Able to travel if required
