As a Commis Cook, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Execute fundamental kitchen duties with precision, including fruit and vegetable preparation, and efficient food item distribution throughout the hotel
- Contribute to the culinary team by assisting in the plating of dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to presentation standards
- Strictly follow standardized recipes and specifications to maintain quality control and consistency in food preparation
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization of work areas, including refrigeration units, countertops, and cooking surfaces
- Implement and adhere to station opening and closing procedures according to established standards
- Minimize overproduction and food waste through proper inventory management, including accurate labeling, rotation, and storage of food items
- Operate kitchen equipment in compliance with safety protocols, promptly reporting any malfunctions or deficiencies
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety guidelines in all aspects of food handling, storage, preparation, and service
- Actively participate in maintaining a safe working environment and contribute to health and safety initiatives
- Comply with all hotel environmental policies and sustainability practices
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by kitchen management
