We are a boutique CPE registered school offering classes to both mainstream children and children with developmental or academic challenges. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Teacher where you'll inspire and empower students to reach their full potential.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct classroom teaching in an inclusive setting for students from Grade 2 to Grade 9.
- Conduct small group teaching for students with different learning challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized Learning Plan (ILPs) tailored to each student's specific needs, in collaboration with other educators and specialists.
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Deliver high-quality instruction that meets the educational and developmental needs of students with disabilities.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate students' progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' performance, including IEP documentation.
- Work closely with support staff, and other specialists to ensure a coordinated approach to education.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress, challenges, and achievements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field from an accredited university.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a special education setting.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with students with varying abilities.
- At least 3 years of experience working with children with learning difficulties.
- International Primary Curriculum (IPC) experience/ British Curriculum experience preferred.
- International school teaching experience, especially in Asia, is highly regarded.
- You may be assigned a teaching role or a mix of both teaching and CCA duties depending on the needs of the school.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linking assessments to IEP development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
- Able to start short notice or for the academic year January 2025.
