We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer with a strong background in IT Operations and virtualization implementation to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, focusing on the deployment, management, and optimization of virtualized environments. This role requires hands-on experience with virtualization platforms, proficiency in system monitoring and troubleshooting, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage virtualized environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, and/or other leading virtualization platforms.
• Oversee day-to-day IT operations, monitoring systems performance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
• Collaborate with IT teams to optimize infrastructure, including server, storage, and networking resources, to support business needs and scalability.
• Develop and maintain system configurations, documentation, and policies for IT infrastructure.
• Conduct regular backup and recovery tests to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Monitor, analyze, and improve system performance, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
• Coordinate with security teams to enforce security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Automate routine tasks and optimize processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Support end-users by resolving escalated technical issues and providing guidance on best practices for system usage.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in IT operations, systems engineering, or a related role.
• Proven experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM.
• Proficiency in system administration, including Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with network protocols, storage management, and backup/recovery procedures.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Nagios, Splunk, SolarWinds).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
