What will you do:
- design and development of embedded software/firmware for advanced electronic systems, such as microcontrollers, microprocessors, and DSPs.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and system architects, to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components.
- Taking ownership of the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system design to implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Developing efficient low-level device drivers and firmware for interfacing with hardware peripherals, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols.
- Optimizing system performance, memory utilization, power consumption, and real-time responsiveness through advanced coding techniques and algorithm development.
- Conducting thorough testing and debugging of embedded systems to identify and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, and actively participating in code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Participate in product definition, specification, and requirements analysis with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Collaboration on firmware architecture and development strategy with a particular focus on robotic devices
- Design new products in a timely manner to meet the product spec, modify existing designs, and improve existing products for better performance and /or cost.
- Designed, integrate, tested, supported, and enhanced software solutions for power conversion systems.
- Perform system integration and validation testing activities, including verification of interoperability within the overall solution.
- Participating in all project lifecycle phases – from design and code development through unit testing, documentation, and release.
- Coaching and guidance to Jr Firmware engineers in evaluation and design.
- Provides technical direction to the team.
- Provide technical support to the factory on design-related issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4+ years of related work experience.
- Experience with Microchip, ST microcontrollers, and DSPs.
- Experience interacting with software debugging in an embedded environment.
- Familiarity with digital control or firmware for power electronics is a plus (PWMs, ADC, digital filter).
- Experience in embedded system or signal processing algorithms (DSP) control.
- Experience implementing & developing communication stack drivers and networking physical protocols (I2C, SPI, RS-485, Modbus, Ethernet, USB, CAN, etc.).
- Deep understanding of RTOS and bare metal programming on MCUs
- Comfortable using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.
- Comfortable reading hardware schematics and data sheets.
- Familiarity with version control systems (SVN), and release methodologies.
- Familiarity with MISRA, IEC62304, or other coding standards will be an added advantage.
- Independent worker.
- Experience collaborating with remote teams.
- Knowledge of development procedures of embedded platforms such as FPGA will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of the development procedures of UBOOT and yocto will be advantageous.
- One or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, etc)
