Job Profile Summary
Within the Wholesale Bank, client coverage is spread across 3 industrial sectors which includes Commodities, Food & Agri (CF&A) sector coverage which in turn comprises 3 sub-sectors: Trade & Commodity Finance, Metals, Mining & Fertilisers, and Food, Beverage and Agriculture (FB&A).
ING’s FB&A business has a strong global presence, with teams serving clients from 6 dedicated locations globally. The team you will be working in is responsible for developing the FB&A client portfolio in the APAC region following the global strategy for the FB&A sub-sector as a part of ING Wholesale Banking and CF&A sector. The team is accountable for the revenues, risk/ return and cross-buy of the FB&A clients in the APAC region. The FB&A team remains in growth mode and is looking to expand its APAC presence.
Job Responsibilities:
- The Associate is responsible for supporting the other members in the FB&A team, and Parent Account Managers in Corporate Sector Coverage, in the origination, structuring and execution of new FB&A transactions across the full spectrum of the food chain.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, onboarding of clients/ borrowers, industry & market analysis, preparing pitches and presentations for new opportunities, capital structuring or M&A transactions in the sector, greenlight memos, credit and written summaries for new lending transactions (jointly with our Transaction Management Lending team);
- Using own or third party financial models to prepare or review financial projections and sensitivities analysis;
- Reviewing due diligence materials, loan documentation, participation in the credit application process, and
- Assisting in the maintenance of industry and market intelligence databases. This person could be the Local Account Manager on FB&A deals booked in the APAC region, where appropriate.
What we're looking for:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or agribusiness industry related field.
- Experience: minimum of 4 years of relevant project/corporate finance experience, ideally in the FB&A industry.
- Strong credit analysis background, basic knowledge of credit structuring preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be highly detail-oriented and accurate.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint): Must have outstanding Excel skills and be able to build financial debt models very soon after starting.
- Fundamental understanding of GAAP accounting principles and comfort with core financial statements (Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and Balance Sheet).
- Fundamental understanding of key financial markets and products.
- Basic understanding of Loan documentation.
- Interest in Sustainability to support the various initiatives being undertaken at ING.
- Team Player, self-motivated and proactive.
