Role Purpose
The successful candidate(s) will work with experienced consulting professions and support the regional team in delivering a wide range of consulting mandates across the energy transition, oil and mining value chains. The position requires the ability to problem solve and apply/develop industry knowledge to a broad range of strategic consulting projects and client situations.
Main Responsibilities
Analysis
- Supporting the consulting teams on a range of consulting projects, particularly through operation of sophisticated internal models and creating and developing new analyses
- Contributing towards the content and format of consulting presentations and reports
- Extracting data from internal and external sources such as databases, websites and Wood Mackenzie products
- Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and attention to detail to ensure the highest quality analysis is delivered
- Proactively take ownership of project workstreams with the ability to defend work to clients and consulting team peers in a coherent, credible and authoritative manner

About You
Knowledge and Experience
- Our ideal candidate will have up to 5 years’ experience of working in an analytical and/or consulting role with knowledge of the energy sector. You should have a passion for delivering quality service to clients and thrive in a collaborative, commercial and client-centric environment. You have a desire to grow your capabilities and enjoy working as part of a project team where you can deepen your industry knowledge and consulting skills
- An understanding of the energy sector, industry dynamics, commercial operations, business models and strategies
- Good analytical skills – you are comfortable with data and modelling
- Strong attention to detail
- Competent in using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint to run analysis and communicate messages to your audience
- Effective communication skills – you can deliver messages and explain complex or technical information in a coherent, authoritative, and engaging manner
- Strong interpersonal skills – you like working with people and can work well on a project team
- A curious and commercial mindset – you are keen to learn and understand things from a client’s point of view
- The ability to work autonomously, deliver to a deadline and adapt to changes
- Ideally experience, in a consulting environment in the energy sector, perhaps with experience in valuation, corporate strategy, market entry strategy and financial modelling
- ‘Knowledge of Korean language is advantageous/preferred’ as the role will involve undertaking Consulting Asia Strategy and projects with clients from various countries in the Asia Pacific region particularly in Korea.
