Job Description
The successful candidate will work with Prof Barbaros Oezyilmaz and Dr Toh Chee Tat on lab support, sample preparation and characterization under a project on Large area synthesis and applications of atomically thin amorphous materials.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Direct growth of MAC on target substrates using a UV-based CVD approach.
- Transfer of 2D material, layer-by-layer assembly of the all-carbon transistors and memristors
- Electrical tests of the devices, exploration of the transfer curves of transistors with thin amorphous dielectrics
- Characterization of MAC (e.g. optical, electrical, Raman spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope).
- Device fabrication of test samples for potential applications.
- Data analysis and physical interpretation of the results.
- Manage lab safety, equipment maintenance and operations.
- Meet key deliverables for industry collaboration.
Qualifications
- Qualifications / Discipline: Bachelor's or Master's degree in materials science, engineering, or a related field, with a focus on thin film deposition
- Skills: Strong verbal communication skills in English, ability to solve problems and generate new ideas
Experience:
- First-hand experience with operation and maintenance of CVD reactors and vacuum systems
- Experience with electronics and the use of clean room is desirable
