Job Summary:
The Senior Planner for FPSO projects is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules, ensuring all project phases align with timelines, resources, and milestones. This role involves extensive planning and coordination, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize project execution and track progress. The Senior Planner will provide analytical support to project leadership, ensuring efficient resource utilization and identifying potential schedule risks to mitigate delays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Scheduling and Planning:Develop detailed project schedules for all FPSO project phases, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and installation.
Utilize planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to create and update schedules, tracking critical paths, dependencies, and progress.
Conduct resource loading and leveling to ensure optimal allocation of labor, materials, and equipment.
- Progress Monitoring and Reporting:Monitor project progress and performance, preparing weekly and monthly reports to provide insights on schedule adherence and completion forecasts.
Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) and other project control techniques to track project progress, productivity, and variances.
Present schedule updates, critical paths, and potential risks to project stakeholders, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
- Risk Management and Mitigation:Identify potential schedule risks and conflicts, performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans to avoid delays.
Conduct "what-if" analyses to evaluate alternative schedules and contingency planning to address any project changes.
Collaborate with the project team to adjust schedules in response to project changes or unforeseen issues, ensuring minimal impact on deadlines.
- Cross-Functional Coordination:Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment and integration of schedule activities.
Interface with contractors and vendors, monitoring their schedules to ensure they align with overall project timelines.
Facilitate regular planning meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and optimize workflows.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with a focus on FPSO or offshore oil and gas projects.
- Extensive knowledge of planning software, such as Primavera P6 and MS Project, with experience in advanced scheduling techniques.
- Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) and critical path analysis.
