We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer specializing in data analysis and network capacity planning. This role is crucial in supporting our network strategy through insightful data-driven decisions, ensuring the smooth performance and scalability of our enterprise network. Reporting to the Network Capacity Planning Product Manager, the Network Engineer will leverage monitoring tools, system logs, and analytical skills to optimize our network's capacity and overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with demand management, network teams, and business units to assess current and future network capacity needs aligned with business goals.
- Analyze network traffic, utilization, and performance metrics to pinpoint bottlenecks and areas for improvement, applying predictive analysis to support scalability.
- Partner with network engineers and implementation teams to strategize and execute hardware upgrades or enhancements to the network infrastructure.
- Develop and deliver reports for management, detailing KPIs, utilization metrics, and capacity optimization recommendations.
- Identify potential capacity-related risks and implement strategies to mitigate network congestion, performance issues, and outages.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to integrate capacity planning needs within project timelines and deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Network Infrastructure: 8+ years in network engineering or operations, particularly in a global network environment, covering routers, switches, LAN/SD-WAN, load balancers, wireless, and cloud networking.
- Analytics: At least 2 years in a role requiring data-driven decision-making, with the ability to translate analysis into actionable insights.
- Observability and Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with network monitoring and observability tools such as SevOne, LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, Moogsoft, Dynatrace, NetBrain, and Elastic. Experience with policy administration, parameter fine-tuning, and threshold setting is a plus.
- Programming: Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, or Python). Experience with Ansible for automation is a bonus.
- Reporting and Data: Skilled in producing regular capacity reports that highlight actionable items, setting key thresholds, and initiating improvement plans.
- Certifications: ITIL certification preferred.
