NIE invites suitable applications for the position of Assistant Manager in the Physical Education & Sports Science Department. This is a 2-year contract post.
Responsibilities
Facilities Management:
- Oversee management of all PESS sports facilities.
- Propose technological solutions to enhance users’ experience at PESS sports facilities.
- Propose and streamline office and facility procedures to ensure an efficient and safe day-to-day running of the facilities within the PESS Faculty.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to optimise processes and address potential issues.
- Supervise the daily operations at PESS Sports Facilities Office, including all logistical, functional and medical needs of relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to:
- Work with faculty members to set up sports equipment for classes.
- Provide logistics support for sports-related events.
- Perform regular inspection of sports facilities to ensure that users adhere to rules and regulations and to inform relevant parties in the event when faulty equipment are spotted.
- Conduct briefing for visitors to PESS sports facilities.
- Perform inspection of fitness rooms particularly during peak hours’ usage.
- Perform first aid duties in the event of injuries.
- Perform any other duties assigned by PESS management.
Event Strategy, Planning, and Coordination:
- Provide end-to-end support for both students and Department driven event initiatives.
- Facilitate the ideation and creation of event concepts led by NIE student bodies to foster holistic student out-of-classroom experiences.
- Collaborate with students in a mentoring capacity with internal and external stakeholders, including the management of relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Provide mentoring to students to prepare them for real-world operational challenges within the sports industry.
Analytics and Data Management:
- Process data on facility usage, safety considerations, and event related metrics.
- Develop and upkeep accurate records of events and facilities operations within the sports facilities.
- Prepare reports and analysis on event outcomes, facility operations, and safety considerations depending on department or organisation needs.
- Utilise data to make recommendations on events, operations and facility related metrics to enhance efficiency and improve effectiveness in all three functions.
Requirements
- A University Degree in Sport Management, Exercise or Sports Science or other relevant qualifications.
- Relevant experience in facilities and events management.
- Relevant experience in automation software (e.g., Power Automate) will be advantageous.
- Training in First Aid & AED would be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Able to perform shift work. (Working hours: Morning shift: 8am to 5.15pm, Afternoon shift: 12.45pm to 10pm).
