Primary responsibilities:
- Provide Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) advice to all Businesses.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant Safety Management Systems.
- Ensure a safe working environment is made available to all employees, clients and contractors by ensuring that all regulatory HSE requirements are satisfied.
- Company Management Representative for all Safety Management System certifications.
Specific responsibilities:
- Central point of contact for all local HSE related issues.
- Development and maintenance of an effective Health and Safety Management System in line with Group policies and best practices.
- Development of an effective HSE strategy to support continuous improvement.
- Undertake accident/incident investigations and prepare/provide accident/incident reports where necessary.
- Undertake HSE inspections, audits and training where required.
- Provide appropriate advice to managers offering a practical and informed interpretation of Company Policies and H&S legislations in response to routine and non-routine matters to enable all operations to function effectively and consistently within established guidelines.
- To keep appraised of current HSE management best practice and theory in order to effectively advise and ensure relevant application in line with the business objectives, its culture and environment.
- Maintain effective working relationships with key people in all Businesses by ensuring an appropriate level of interaction, including reactive and proactive site visits and regular written/verbal communications.
- Ensure HSE remains a focused strategy and support the management in identifying priorities and monitoring performance against strategic objectives.
- At all times exercise due regard for the health and safety of all in line with Company’s policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance to Junior HSE Executive when required.
Requirements:
- Diploma with more than 3 years of working experience
- Must be a registered Workplace Health & Safety Officer with Ministry of Manpower
- Manage and lead the domestic training team
- Able to coordinate and motivate a team towards a common goal
- Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
- Able to interact with all levels of management, affiliates, suppliers and clients
- Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Acts quickly and decisively; able to make tough calls
- Works well under pressure, challenges status quo
- Applies judgment and acts according to the company's standards of ethics and integrity
- Skills in coaching people beyond what they believe possible and giving them the freedom to act
- Able to treat people with dignity and fairness
- Able to ensure that process flow documentation is accurate and timely
- Knowledge of HSE management systems and procedures
- This position will be required to base in Jurong Island lab around 2-3 days a week, e.g. (3 days base in the main office at Boon Lay Way, 2 days base in their Lab at Seraya Avenue, Jurong Island).
- Must own transport and registered MOM safety officer
- Salary: Up to $6,000 + transport allowance
- 8.30am to 6.00pm (Mon - Fri)
