The Senior Building Engineer is responsible, but not limited to, the following:
General
- Responsible for dealing with authorities, client and consultant management.
Planning & Programming
- Plan construction sequence for various work trades.
Quality
- Highlight technical issues and get updates from Design Department on changes and distribute to vendors, engineers and supervisors.
- Coordinate with M&E Section for smooth integration of M&E Services into building works.
- Evaluate subcontractors’ risk assessment, safe work procedures and method statements.
- Co-ordinate and control actual construction works on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Assist QS in measuring work done.
- Assist in implementing Quality System on site.
- Review daily reports from vendors and ensure all daily activities are properly recorded in the reports prior to circulation to Project Director/Manager.
- Ensure that document control and site records are properly updated in compliance to PQP.
- Check all works conform to relevant authorities’ requirement.
- Handle technical and engineering problems.
Procurement, Contract, VOs, EOTs
- Check all requirements in contract documents, drawings and specifications and ensure that variation orders for Building Section are properly implemented with cost implication recorded.
Safety
- Responsible for site implementation of safety standards to comply with IMS safe work methods.
- Responsible for attendance to daily site coordination meeting and provide detail coordination with subcontractors.
Others
- Do up Building subcontractor/supplier performance assessment after work/services completion.
(C) Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Building, Engineering or Architecture.
- At least 6 years of project management and site experience in building and construction, civil and structural projects.
- Experienced in large scale construction projects.
(D) Personality:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead Building Engineers and provide supervision subordinate Building staff.
(E) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong technical knowledge in current construction technologies.
- Strong understanding of general construction methods and in areas of building and structural details; working drawings.
- Good knowledge of local regulation and engineering standards.
- Familiar with MS, Primavera and other software to develop construction schedule.
- Strong time management skill with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage particular tasks in charge.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyse and synthesize complex issues quickly and propose counter measures to settle the issues.
