LEGAL COUNSEL
The Legal Counsel will play a key role in the continued global growth and expansion of NEON.
Based in Singapore, this role offers excellent career development and personal growth with global exposure across multiple industries and jurisdictions. You will be challenged by a wide variety of simulating work and will require superb communication and engagement skills to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is self-driven, positive and highly adaptable. Someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented and resourceful, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Advice – Provide legal advice to stakeholders and business units on a wide range of corporate commercial matters, draft, review, negotiate and advise on agreements related to intellectual property, transactions, procurement, inter-company matters, employment, compliance, and other corporate matters.
- Risk Management & Problem Solving - Manage the company’s risk whilst maintaining a competitive business environment. Anticipate, identify, and solve legal problems.
- Policies & Procedures - Develop and implement policies and procedures related to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and business operations.
- Project Management – Instruct and work closely with external counsels, liaise with both internal stakeholders and external parties to ensure timely desired outcome.
Good to have:
- A J.D., L.L.B. or equivalent law degree with 10 years of legal and compliance experience with a good mix of private practice in a good law firm and in-house experience in a corporate commercial role.
- Experience working in or supporting Singapore and other global markets with a background in IP is preferred
- Excellent communication and drafting skills. Ability to speak, read and draft at a high level is a must.
- Superior stakeholder engagement skills, able to communicate clearly and effectively with key stakeholders and team members.
- A team-player with an ability to work with colleagues from different teams and able to work independently and self-manage competing priorities under deadlines with minimal supervision as part of in-person and virtual teams.
