Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble skewers with meats, vegetables, and seafood, ensuring uniform size and seasoning.
- Grill skewers over open flame or charcoal, focusing on texture, flavor, and presentation.
- Prepare and apply yakitori marinades (tare) and seasonings to skewers for enhanced flavor.
- Plate grilled skewers attractively for service, ensuring quality and correct temperature.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grill area, ensuring all tools and ingredients are properly stored.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines to ensure the safe handling and storage of food, upholding hygiene standards.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to maintain smooth operations during peak times.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Previous experience in a chef role, preferably with Japanese cuisine.
- Skills: Proficiency in grilling and skewering, attention to detail, and maintaining high standards in presentation.
- Attributes: Ability to work effectively under pressure, handle physical demands, and collaborate with kitchen staff.
