Our client is looking for an ESG Director to join their advisory company.
As an ESG advisory director, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice to clients on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. You will work with clients to develop and implement ESG strategies that align with their business goals and values and help them navigate the complex regulatory landscape.
Job Description:
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Advising clients on ESG issues: You will work with clients to identify and prioritize ESG issues that are relevant to their business and provide strategic advice on how to address these issues. This may include developing ESG policies, setting targets and metrics, and implementing ESG reporting frameworks.
- Conducting ESG assessments: You will conduct ESG assessments of clients' operations, supply chains, and products/services to identify potential risks and opportunities. You will analyze ESG data and provide insight to clients on how to improve their ESG performance.
- Developing ESG strategies: You will work with clients to develop ESG strategies that align with their business goals and values. This may include developing sustainability roadmaps, identifying ESG investment opportunities, and integrating ESG considerations into business decision-making processes.
- Managing ESG projects: You will manage ESG projects from start to finish, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that project objectives are met.
- Staying up to date on ESG trends: You will stay up to date on emerging ESG trends and best practices and share your knowledge with clients and colleagues. You will also contribute to the development of ESG thought leadership and research.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Deep knowledge of ESG issues: You should have a deep understanding of ESG issues and their impact on businesses. You should be able to analyze and interpret ESG data and communicate your findings to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong project management skills: You should have strong project management skills and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You should be able to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with clients and other stakeholders. You should be able to build strong relationships with clients and be able to influence and persuade them to adopt ESG strategies that are in line with their values and goals.
- Business acumen: You should have a strong understanding of business and financial concepts and be able to apply this knowledge to ESG issues. You should be able to identify ESG investment opportunities and make a business case for ESG strategies.
- You should have strong analytical skills and be able to analyze complex data sets.
- You should be able to identify trends and patterns in ESG data and provide insights to clients.
- Familiar with specific industries: You should be familiar with the ESG issues and landscape of a specific industry, preferably financial institutions, real estate, or agricultural.
