Position description:
As a Data Analytics Manager (Finance and Equities), you will play a pivotal role within our data team, collaborating closely with product, strategy, finance and engineering teams. Your primary goal will be to maintain our finance and equities business data pipelines, derive actionable insights from extensive datasets, influencing strategic decisions and driving equities growth. You will lead key projects, lead junior data scientists, and ensure data-driven approaches are integrated into business processes.
What you will be doing:
- Manage product, strategy, finance, engineering stakeholders to drive large-scale, complex data analysis projects from conception to execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Understand how our equities investment products work and is able to present to senior management business related analysis to improve the adoption and volume of our equities products
- Work with our finance team to build required pipelines that ensure monthly financial reporting needs are met
- Work with our Financial Analysis and Planning team on revenue / cost items in order to improve our unit economics of products
- Work with strategy team and the product managers to identify the key metrics we should track for our equities business and build data pipelines, frameworks and dashboards to track and improve these metrics
- Explore our large data sets to improve our understanding of how our customers engage in Pluang in order to improve our equities business
- Take charge of the monthly equities insight meeting to inform senior management of equities business performance and insights to improve the business
- Simulate impact of business decisions on promotions, pricing strategy and new products together with the strategy team to inform go or no go decisions
- Drive actions to improve our equities business with product, marketing and CRM teams based on insights from the analysis
- Design and evaluate experiments in our equities business using statistical methods
- Monitor data processes, providing the support that teams rely on to make decisions.
- Effectively communicate your work with senior management, team leads and cross-functional stakeholders on a regular basis
- Lead a team of 1-3 junior data scientists in solving our finance / equities related problems and guide their career development
- Manage the data work streams under the finance and equities umbrella
What you need to be successful for this role:
- BS in a Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Physics or a related field within 7+ years of experience.
- Strong SQL skills. You will need to write custom queries to pull data to support your assumption and hypothesis.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Preference for Looker Data Studio).
- Experience with scripting and data analysis using Python.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with good attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in an international team environment.
- Ability to be agile and flexible in adapting in a dynamic environment.
- Interest in the investment, financial sector or web3/cryptocurrency is a plus.
- Familiarity with BigQuery and GCP would be an advantage.
- Prior experience working with / reading financial statements would be preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product effectiveness
