Job Summary
- To ensure worksite compliance with Workplace, Safety and Health and Environmental Management / Regulation.
- Prepare safety report such as Risk Assessment (RA), Safe Work Procedure (SWP), Permit-to-work for shipyard & maintenance state and other necessary documentation for management and regulatory bodies.
- To oversee and lead the subcontractors in implementing the Company’s safety systems at sites.
- To liaise closely with site operations staff and Project / Site Managers / Government Regulatory Authorities.
- To ensure all related safety equipment and PPE are in order and properly maintained.
- To carry out any related functions/duties and processes as directed by the Yard Manager.
- Conduct departmental onboarding and safety briefings, training, and toolbox talks with workers to promote awareness of safety practices.
- To conduct daily VSCC and assist in planning and directing the committee's functions.
- Secondary Roles as Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) & Ad-Hoc duties as assigned by Management.
Document Control
- Ensure proper documentation prepared by each section, review and file the documents for technical, operations, purchasing and inventory section.
WSH Compliance
- Ensure WSH compliance for operations to shipbuilding and ship-repairing, and maintenance.
- Oversee the yard safety, vessels, and operations during all shipbuilding and ship repairs activities.
Job Requirements
- Min. O level or ITE Certificate / WSQ Advance Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferably in a Shipyard.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate between departments for documentation purposes.
- Preferably to have a shipyard safety supervisor certificate and WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health;
