Job Description

Research Associate - Genomic safe harbour targeted engineering of cells for gene and cell therapy

Location: Cardiovascular-Metabolic Disease TRP, NUS YLL School of Medicine

Description:

We are looking for a Research Associate to drive the wet lab research activities for the duration of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Clone and amplify complex constructs necessary for engineering of mammalian cells
  • Maintain cultures of mammalian cells to a high standard and conduct engineering experiments working closely with the project leads
  • Compile and organise experimental data, including cell culture records, characterization results, and cell line inventory information
  • Conduct daily wet-lab experiments e.g. nucleic acid extraction and quantification
  • Assist the team to ensure a safe and efficient working environment
  • Ensure project deliverables are met in a timely manner and to the highest standard

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a research laboratory
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and genome engineering
  • Extensive knowledge of molecular cloning techniques
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in working with lentiviral vectors is highly desirable
  • Good communication (verbal and written)
