CMMS Database Build Engineer

Overall Job Purpose

Lead or assist a team in the development and building of CMMS databases for new or existing projects, provide support to the team(s) to ensure contractual/specification functionality and business objectives are achieved.

Take part in other activities assigned or designated by the manager relating to the current role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Execution of the delivery for the CMMS Database build as per planned schedule and milestones.
  • Lead and oversee work execution of a CMMS database build or data mining/gathering activity for use with a CMMS.
    Vetting on the quality of final data to be included in the CMMS build as per project specification.
  • Coordination of data information requirement with EPCI group, project managers and client. Serves as the main point of contact on CMMS database project and/or remediation work.
  • Identifying maintainable equipment/items to be marked for the CMMS from various sources.
  • Meet with project groups in relation to data acquisition and delivery to the build team.
  • Provide monthly reports on the status of assigned CMMS database build project.
  • Guides and ensures database build team members follow project specification standards.
  • Ensure CMMS database handover acceptance as per agreed specifications and functionality with client.
  • Implementation of CMMS database remediation projects as per agreed work scope.
  • Support and assist in implementation of change requests in the CMMS for the company’s internal operating assets when requested.
  • To manage and update project schedules and progress diligently.
  • To give feedback and suggest improvements to current CMMS database build or data mining/gathering processes.
  • Ensure constant communication flow to the Information Management team and individuals involved in the project.

Educational Qualification:

  • Preferable with a 4-year Bachelor Diploma in Marine or Mechanical or Electrical engineering.

Relevant Work Experience (Mandatory):

  • At least 1.5 years working on CMMS plant maintenance database or from a marine vessel or onshore plant maintenance related background.
  • Exposure to onshore production plant or Marine or Oil and Gas industry.
  • User and operating knowledge to at least one Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). E.g., SAP-PM, Maximo, NSE, AMOS, TM Master, Star Systems, etc.
  • Practical exposure to data acquisition and manipulation to facilitate a secure, complete, and accurate data gathering and processing.
  • Identifying tags, boundary mark ups, location and its boundaries from P&ID’s and other source materials. ***
  • Able to identify maintainable equipment from tags and P&ID’s. ***

Desirable Traits:

  • Experience in being a member of or acted as a lead in a CMMS database building project.
  • Working knowledge in reliability and maintenance analysis methodologies.
  • General working knowledge on planned maintenance and project engineering specific to the oil and gas and/or marine industry.
  • Familiarity with sea going vessel or onshore plant equipment and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001 / 14001 / 14224.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation capability.
  • Excellent people management skills. Able to lead and motivate team members.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to innovate and propose processes that will enhance work output.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Certifications:

  • CMMS user training certification.

Computer Software:

  • Advance Microsoft Excel operation and manipulation.
  • Microsoft Office Suite operations.
  • Knowledge in effective use of Microsoft Project for scheduling and planning.
  • Good to have but not mandatory: Knowledge in Structured Query Language (SQL) / Python scripting / Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
