ob Description & Requirements
- Leads and participates in the work of staff in managing projects
- Trains customers, staff, and others as needed in a formal setting, in a group, or one-on-one
- Coordinates, configures, installs, and maintains local area, wide area, and wireless networks
- Measures volume and performance of network traffic
- Analyzes network problems and implements solutions
- Monitors network operations and configurations to identify opportunities to improve network performance
- Reviews and evaluates work products, methods and procedures, and identifies and resolves problems
- Develops and implements system improvements to enhance operating efficiencies
- Identifies equipment requirements and develops specifications for enterprise network designs
- Installs, maintains, and upgrades control program software for routers, bridges, switches, firewalls and other network equipment
- Recommends and installs additional and replacement routers, bridges, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment
- Documents installation and configuration procedures
- Communicates project status, resolving project issues, problems, and changes and prepares project status reports
- Manages projects using personnel, consultants, and vendors, as needed
- May be required to monitor project expenditures and purchase equipment, recommending adjustments as necessary
- Ensures that network projects are completed and meet the required objectives
- Monitors and validates the security of networks and combats security intrusions
- Coordinates with vendors, consultants, and staff as needed
- Maintains technical and functional competency in the applications
- Performs related duties as required.
